Joanne L. Rondilla is an assistant professor of sociology and Asian American Studies at San José State University and a Public Voices Fellow with The OpEd Project. She is the co-author of Is Lighter Better?: Skin-Tone Discrimination Among Asian Americans and co-editor of Red and Yellow, Black and Brown: Decentering Whiteness in Mixed Race Studies.
