Christel van der Boom

Throughout her career she has worked at the intersection of media and tech, currently serving as the head of communications at Flipboard. Flipboard's mission is to empower people to become more informed, curious, and engaged with the world around them. Motivated to drive positive social change, she is a leader in diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. Together with Professor Kyoung Mi Choi she co-founded International Safe Zone in support of international LGBTQ+ students in 2015. Christel holds a master's degree in communications with a cultural media studies emphasis from the University of Amsterdam.
